You’ll also receive personalized pre-treatment instructions, which may include adjusting certain skincare products and limiting sun exposure.
Is the Alma Hybrid Treatment Comfortable?
Your comfort is a priority throughout your Alma Hybrid treatment. At The Med Spa on Randolph, we take additional steps to make your experience as comfortable and relaxed as possible, especially when performing deeper resurfacing treatments. Before your procedure, a topical numbing agent is applied to the treatment area. During treatment, we also provide Zimmer cooling at no additional charge to help cool and soothe the skin. For deeper, more intensive treatments, your provider may also discuss the option of a prescription medication to help you relax during your procedure, when medically appropriate. If an oral relaxation medication is prescribed, you will be required to arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home after your appointment. Because every Alma Hybrid treatment is customized, the level of sensation can vary depending on the area being treated and the depth and intensity of your treatment. Our team will discuss what to expect beforehand and tailor your comfort plan accordingly.

You will also be provided with a medical-grade post-treatment skincare kit curated to support, soothe, and protect your skin as it heals. Depending on the depth and intensity of your treatment, redness, swelling, warmth, dryness, flaking, or peeling may occur and can vary from patient to patient.
Our team will walk you through how to cleanse, moisturize, protect, and care for your skin, as well as when you can safely resume your normal skincare routine and activities.
How long is the downtime?
Downtime varies because every Alma Hybrid treatment—and every patient—is different. Your recovery can be influenced by the depth and intensity of your treatment, the area treated, your overall health, your skin’s natural healing response, and lifestyle factors. During your consultation, your provider will help determine the appropriate treatment intensity and discuss the anticipated downtime based on your skin, goals, health, and lifestyle. Remember, downtime is only the beginning of the process. Your skin continues to regenerate and remodel collagen beneath the surface for weeks after treatment, with full results typically evaluated around 12 weeks.
